This place is one of the most important pagodas in Quảng Nam for many generations of monks to practice Buddhism. Later, Zen Master Pho Triem, an enlightened monk, restored Lang Thọ pagoda and renamed it Vạn Đức, as well as changed the direction of the pagoda from the northeast to the southwest, in accordance with Fengshui. Nowaday, in Van Duc Pagoda, many precious artifacts are still preserved in good condition, such as the bowl of Zen Master Minh Luong, the monk's robe of Zen Master Pho Triem, the certificate of ordination given by King Minh Mạng to Zen Master Toàn Đức Hoằng Tông, along with hundreds of woodblocks (woodcut planks) ... With those exceptional values, Van Duc Pagoda was recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 1991.
